Spanish Immersion

Spanish immersion means that Spanish is the only language spoken in the classroom, creating an “immersion environment.” The main benefits for anyone participating in immersion environment include: academic, cognitive, creative, and social development and fluency.

Language immersion strengthens the brain, improves understanding of native language, and gives students an advantage later in life because globalization increasingly demands a workforce that is fluent in diverse languages.

Experiential, Inquiry Based Learning

MIS classes are organized in a multiage framework that combines two or three age groups in the same class. This framework allows for collaboration and learning in a variety of ways. Older students benefit from the qualities of leadership and responsibility they develop while younger students benefit from the mentorship and modeling provided by their older peers.

Multiage education provides an authentic learning environment where individual needs can be met and a student-centered educational experience.

The PYP is an educational framework founded on a philosophy that recognizes a child’s natural curiosity, creativity and ability to reflect. The PYP generates a stimulating, challenging learning environment to nurture those assets and foster a lifelong love of learning.
